At Worry Free, we pride ourselves on being involved in our community. It is our belief that local businesses should have a positive impact on the community they operate in. Over the past two decades, we’ve supported our local community by sponsoring hockey and ringette teams, clearing 20+ local rinks free of charge and participating in community events like Canada Day and the Parade of Lights.
In 2018, we answered a call for support and began our charity partnership with the Orleans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre (OCCRC). The OCCRC provides numerous programs for local residents including a food bank, EarlyON Child and Family Centre, Youth Programs, Counselling, Education and Employment Services, Housing Support, Senior and Health Services to name a few.
The OCCRC Food Bank, which we raise funds for, serves hundreds of local families in their time of need. In 2023 the OCCRC Food Bank provided food to 775 people a month on average.
In 2018, we heard about a need for support in our community. Since then, we’ve hosted an annual fundraiser and food drive in support of the Orleans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre’s Food Bank. With your help, we’ve been able to raise approximately $80,000 and have donated about 1,500 lbs of food over the past 6 years. This year, we are asking for your help once again.
From now until December 31st, 2024, we will be collecting monetary donations for the OCCRC Food Bank program to help make sure no one goes hungry in our community. If all of our clients gave just a toonie to this campaign, we can easily hit our goal. We are grateful for any contribution you can make. To help support our local community, click the button below!
We think celebrating together is an important way to build community and togetherness. A strong community cares for each other and looks out for one another.
That’s why we like to support the Orleans Canada Day celebrations and participate in Santa’s Parade of Lights as often as we can!
Sponsoring Local Youth teams
Supporting our local youth is important to us. Throughout the past 20+ years of operations, we have sponsored numerous sports teams to ensure children in our community have the chance to participate in team sports. Whether your sport of choice is hockey or ringette, we can all agree that sports are just more fun in the winter!
Another way we like to help out our local community is by clearing neighbourhood rinks. Most neighbourhood rinks are maintained by volunteers who work tirelessly to provide a fun and safe place for the neighbourhood to enjoy.
